A prayer to Saint George

This week I would like to bring this famous prayer to St George as my first article about Christianity.

In psychology it is called resilience, our capacity to withstand traumas. In Jewish Kabbalah, Gebburah (the strength), the Romans called it Mars, the Greek Ares, the Yoruba Ogum, Catholics call it St. George. Under Evangelical Christianity and non-esoteric Judaism, the same way young David defeated Goliath, an enemy that at first look would seem insurmountable, we can hope to use this strength to be victorious over the big challenges in our lives.

Below a reduced version of the prayer. For the full prayer you can visit the Saint Michael Center.

O Glorious St. George,

I will go dressed and armed with the weapons of Saint George so that my enemies, having feet will not reach me; having hands will not trap me; having eyes will not see me, neither with thought can they cause me harm.

Firearms will not reach my body; knives and swords will break without touching my body, ropes and chains will break without tying my body.

Glorious Saint George, in the name of God, extend to me your shield and your powerful arms, defending me with your strength and your greatness; and may my enemies underneath your feet become humble and submissive to you.

So Be it in the Power of God, of Jesus Christ and of the Divine Holy Spirit.

Amen

If you are going through a difficult moment the devotion can be organized as a novena of 9 prayers one for each day.

There is an Youtube video with some prayers to St. George that might be interesting as well:
